What does ntvdm.exe do?
In Windows 2000, by default, all active 16-bit Windows applications run as separate threads in a single multithreaded process called NT Virtual DOS Machine (NTVDM). The NTVDM process simulates a 16-bit Windows environment complete with all of the DLLs called by 16-bit Windows applications.

Ron Found 5 ntvdm.exe files, none of which were in the Windows/system32 directory. I was having big problems, then stopped the process for each one, now I am okay, at least until the next boot up.

abdelkader if you have problem with ntvdm.exe, copy it from other machine, and copy it on your machine at the folder ( c:/windows/sustem32 )
